Colin H. Kahl is an associate professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. He has served as deputy assistant to President Barack Obama and national security advisor to Vice President Joe Biden, and deputy assistant for the Middle East to Defense Secretaries Robert Gates and Leon Panetta.
