Carola Rackete is a German ship captain with the Sea-Watch refugee rescue organization. She is the author of a book about the climate crisis, Handeln statt Hoffen: Aufruf an die letzte Generation (“Act Don’t Hope: A Summons for the Last Generation”) available in German and Italian as of October 2019.
