Reuters reports that documents seized in a May 2015 U.S. raid in eastern Syria reveal the theological arm of the notoriously deranged Islamic State produced a religious ruling sometime in January allowing for the theft of organs from “apostates.”
Since ISIS has reportedly gone to extraordinary lengths to make hospitals under its control as desultory, sadistic, and unhygienic as possible, it isn’t clear how these organ extractions would be carried out in the event they were actually taking place.
The document, which contains no evidence that any organ harvesting is actively underway, was discovered along with several other religious rulings allowing for a veritable laundry list of depravity, including the group’s signature practice of mass rape.
