Do you remember back when this kind of thing was an issue?

Blog; Blogorrhea. Blogosphere. Blogistan. Blogdex. Blogrolling. Warblogging; Where it will all end, knows God! I wish someone had gotten to the naming committee before this whole movement got rolling.

That was Eric Alterman introducing his blog Altercation, the date of which MSNBC.com does not clearly display, but it was maybe 1999? 2000? Something like that. So for maybe six, seven years Eric wrote that early-model blog, with only daily updates, no permalinks, and no comments. And somewhere in there I started filling in for him occasionally. Which surprised people who knew us, because we rarely agree, really. MSNBC dropped Altercation last year, but it lives on--now with permalinks, but still only daily updates, and no comments. (I wonder why?) Eric's away today, so if you want to see me do some antique blogging, it's over there, and if you want to comment, you can do it here. Later in the week there will be other guest-bloggers, who also don't agree with Eric.
