According to reporting by The New York Times, in 26 states there were zero credible allegations of voter fraud and only one allegation each in eight other states. A few states had more, like Tennessee, which is reviewing a whopping 40 out of 4.3 million votes.
These results are of a piece with the usual lack of fraud during elections. Voter-fraud fear-mongering is a tool for voter suppression and nothing more. Donald Trump has played upon these fears, blaming voter fraud before the election for why he might lose and blaming voter fraud afterwards, falsely, for why he lost the popular vote.
The Times has thus far found only one allegation of a noncitizen voting in Tennessee. In the meantime, millions of eligible voters face undue barriers to voting in the name of ending voter fraud.
