Not much has changed since the last time Chris Rock took an Oscar poll at a Los Angeles movie theater, in 2005.

One of the highlights of a very good hosting job by Chris Rock was a pre-produced short feature in which Rock interviewed moviegoers at a Compton theater about the year’s Oscar nominations. The results are hilarious—no one has heard of Spotlight.

But Rock also went to a black Los Angeles theater when he hosted the Oscars in 2005 and the bit was pretty similar to this year’s, in large part because the Academy Awards have not made any progress in the intervening eleven years.
