It still feels weird to see “Disney’s The BFG,” given that Roald Dahl’s thorny, ambiguous work doesn’t exactly scream “Mickey Mouse material.” But given Spielberg’s solid history with kids’ movies (E.T., obviously, but he also provided the story for The Goonies) and adaptations (Jaws, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park) there’s reason to believe in The BFG.
